Maintaining A Positive MIND

We all face this.... Those negative thoughts floating around. They are usually caused by triggers, whether that be from an emotional trauma or painful situation. Typically, our brain will search for the fastest "safety net." Whether that is shoving these feelings aside to "never" see again, or folding up and sinking into these feelings. Sometimes, we do not see the problem right away, but suppressing these emotional traumas or painful situations can cause a habit of the mind - and even difficultly processing

challenging situations.

Overtime, this energy that you are suppressing stays in our subconscious. Causing blockages in our chakras, or energy channels. This is why it is so crucial for us to acknowledge our emotions and fear to train our brain to heal.

WHY ENERGY CHANNELS ARE IMPORTANT

Chakras, or energy channels are important. They aid in prana, vital life force energy, flowing through your body, which will make you feel grounded and balanced. However, if you ever find yourself feeling "off," like something is quite right chances are you have a blockage in your chakras. Any blockages can cause you to feel physically or emotionally off.

Knowing this you do have the power to heal and bring yourself back to a balanced state.

How can we do this?

  • Reiki Healer

  • Pin pointing where your blockages are. There are many chakras, but typically we focus on seven of them (Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third-Eye, Crown)

  • Meditation

  • Yoga (physical and metaphysical practice)

  • Meeting with a therapist, or someone you feel safe exploring your troubles with

SET UP A BRAIN ROUTINE

When negative thoughts or situations arise, we should try not to react right away. We should take a moment and reflect. Replacing the negative with a positive response. Always keeping in mind the practice of Ahimsa, which means non-violence. We do not want to hurt someone else's feeling because we are hurt ourselves. Let's take a negative thought and replace it with a positive one.

What does this look like?

  • take 5 breaths

  • think before speaking/reacting

  • keep in mind that there are always two truths: One that can be blunt and hurtful. Second where you can express how you are feeling, but does not insult/hurt other parties involved (REMEMBER reactions can cause other people trauma or trauma responses)

  • replace a negative thought (i.e. I am so fat) with a positive thought (i.e. my body does so much for me. I take good care of my body)

Final Thoughts

Be kind to yourself! We're all working through some trauma, which will look different to everyone. Just remember that healing is a process. All we can do is keeping moving forward in a positive way. This is SO important. Let us not let negativity control us and take over. We have the CHOICE on how we feel. It will take time. Setting up a routine may be helpful because eventually a routine becomes a habit.

Sending all me love,

Alicia
